She taught me to sew, to pray, to cook...to love...

there were 4 of us kids...

and she found time to teach me to sew, to cook, to worship, to read, to dream...to ice skate... to shop...to love cardinals...

to pray...

and to love.

She has been gone 5 years, and not a day goes by that I don't use some of her wisdom, some of her talents, and think of her. You would have been 80 today...it would have been a heck of a party!
Happy Birthday, mom...you are missed.

Oh Mel,
My heart!!! This is the most touching post, mostly because I can identify 100% with it! My sweet Mom's birthday would have been on the 16th of this month...our Mom's sure had close birthdays.
What sweet photos, love the one's of you, I've never seen your childhood pictures, so very cute....:)
Love you sweetie!

Such a lovely post for your Mother. I've had 22 years without my Mother and still find things that she instilled in me that I am grateful for. I'm sending you a hug.
