SATURDAY NOVEMBER 7th...FIRST HOLIDAY SHOW of the year...

ok...so this is just to get you in the winter mood...I will have pics soon. Next Saturday I do a small show with some family and friends...usually just invitation only...and for me it is a sneak peek at some of the goodies that will be in the store. For the other vendors...this is their only show. There is marvelous fused glass art, wonderful jewelry, fabulous homemade holiday runners and linens...wonderful handmade cards...and more.
Cookies and drinks are served...and a small intimate shopping time is had by all.
the address is 2334 NE 48th, Portland, 97213.
so- consider yourselves invited. I know there is a lot going on next weekend...but I hope you can travel over. It is about 1 mile from our store...and I will have LOADS of vintage Christmas in the store, too!
and HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

cutest new tags from littlebeachdesigns, sold over 2 DOZEN of them just this weekend!...
found loads of antique spools hiding in a box in my basement...so many treasures down there that I am bringing to the store...
darling little kids Adirondack chairs, in an adorable shade of blue...
HUGE flashcards that I found at an estate and from Darwin at STARS ANTIQUE MALL...I LOVE THEM...(they are at the store now!)

also...I will be having a holiday show at the store...(and the holiday show at MONTICELLO) and holiday coming soon to my STARS AND SPLENDID booths, dates and info to be posted soon...

as the world turns...

I had a bout of food poisoning...and while I was down and out the world has changed...
our fire pit circle is covered in leaves...
the greenhouse still looks inviting...(and a bit mysterious...who are those frogs and will they end up in STARS or Monticello for Christmas...)
my tree has changed into the perfect fall color...(while my color is finally coming back...not so green these past few days)...
this is truly how I feel... I am here...but a bit faded around the edges...I am not happy when I am not feeling well...but have been pushing through it these past few days...for those of you that are waiting patiently for shipments, thank you from the bottom of my heart...for those of you expecting big things for EXPO weekend, the store has never been fuller. John (my hubby & workaholic...) has been working hard enough for both of us...finishing project after project. Before I got sick, I had been emptying out a storage area...and I have been pricing like crazy!!! I will post pics tonight or tomorrow...so much to see...the store is CRAMMED full...and if you haven't been...now is the time!!!! Happy Thursday!

I have a huge obsession...

I am obsessed with wood...old kitchen cabinets (yes, this is part of the "new" kitchen remodel)
another vintage cabinet that holds our canned goods and baking supplies...
yes...those are old yardsticks bordering my ceiling...have collected them for years and finally realized where I wanted them...
windows and drawers...wall decor in my small, teeny little kitchen...

and this funky screen- works great as a mug shelf over our coffee pots(yes...we have more than one in this kitchen...another obsession of mine, coffee is...)
I have been purging my personal collection of wood items...and a lot of them have ended up in the store- I have drawers and wee little shelves, and boxes...the list goes on.
lots of new old stuff has landed...hope you can come and see it all soon!
have a super Friday...

lucky estate sale finds!

very sweet table...might be keeping this one...

love these garden tools and heavy mugs...these are headed to the store
this entire childs suitcase is crammed full of vintage full and half slips...
this teeny little step stool and cherub lamp...egads...I can't keep it all...(probably headed to the store...)

and this German rose plate and fab retro electric wreath will probably be saved for the Monticello Christmas show...where I will have a space set up with fab vintage holiday decor and more...
gotta love a great estate sale...
have a blustery week ( I LOVE THIS WEATHER!)

it's beginning to look a lot like...

just brought this mantel in...can't you see it decorated for the holidays? yes, it is for sale...

this bed looks so yummy...can't you see it made up with quilts and wintry pillows?
a little glitter...
these little made in Poland wood dolls remind me of Pinnochio...and the glass stars are the same ones that are hanging in my greenhouse...created by brother in law Bill- for sale for $ 3. each!
just love this time of year...blankets and hot cocoa and fires in the fireplace...
just the beginning...

I have traveled over to the dark side...

the clipboards are new...in an altered sort of way...(not too dark yet...)
the Mikado plants are here from Hawaii (the gold tips are real flowers that last up to 10 weeks!)-nothing unusually dark here...
if you look really hard you can see a stray pair of legs behind the petticoat...where is the rest of the body?
behind the black cat? some random arms coming out of a wastebasket...a head peeking out from the corner...
and yes, those are hands on the dresser top...think that the dark side is coming for me...Yoda... save me...

the purging, the pretty, & the ugly...

now comes the work...the pricing of the purging of the greenhouse...
hard to believe that all of this was in my tiny greenhouse...
but today it will be on its way to the store...
and hopefully on it s way to someones elses house...or garden...
hope you all have a happy happy Thursday!!

I finally did it...

I took the day off...
and cleaned out the greenhouse...(with Mike the cat)
hung my favorite things...
hung my 50 glass stars from my brother-in-law Bill that he made for my 50th birthday this year...
and in cleaning out the greenhouse...I came up with a BUNCH of wonderful vintage garden junque that I will take to the store (does this still count as a day off?)...
hope you have a fabulous Wednesday!
