this week promises to be like no other...

My son is moving to a fabulous apartment with some wonderful friends...I got to see it yesterday, empty, but could picture his plans for furniture and decorating...and I was filled with joy and pride at the smart choices my son is making in his life...and was happy for him.
However, that does mean that for the first time...ever...(not including camps and overnights) that my son will be on his own, as will his mom. Of course, still have the wonderful hubby, (that has been putting up with my tears on and off for a week!)...but somehow, this is such a big big big thing to me...excited and yet sad. For those of you that have a toddler or a child that still "needs" you...this is a big deal. Enjoy those days...with the knowledge that one day, this will be your week of letting go. I know, I know...he will still "need" me...but it's very different somehow.
I am certain by Thursday, I will be ready for happy hour (probably at 9 am)...
and then the decorator/collector in me will kick in, and I will be redecorating the empty space in the house he leaves behind....
ah...change...

So very hard to let go-I know, I've done it twice!! Then again, we raised them to stand on their own-hurray for a great job!!
