perhaps I am too ambitious...crawling for letters

OK...so I thought that I could move out of the garden show at Monticello,
re-do my store, work on our church rummage sale, and unpack my studio.
hmmmmm...it just didn't all get done (what a surprise).
However, the husband was most patient with me.

he worked the store after the first load from Monticello, while I went to help out at the church.
then I made it to the store and he went for the second load, while I tried to squeeze the first load in...
what would I do without him???
so, I brought in lots of new garden items & pottery. and
gathered together the ladies (dress forms) and put them high in the air with the globes...got shelves bulging full of bits and baubles together for all of us that create...vintage threads, buttons- you name it...I should have it~
oh, you might be wondering about crawling for letters? Remember a previous blog- I have loads and loads of misc. letters (scrabble, anagrams...)- well, we spilled them all over the floor...glad no one was there to take photos or film...we must have looked crazy!!!
so...the store isn't done, but tomorrow is another day- will take more photos of new stuff soon!

store re-do...before we moved in...

ok, so this is REALLY a before shot...I am going to re-do the store tomorrow, bringing in lots of vintage garden and pottery and plants...and I didn't take a before shot today, so I am making do with a shot of the store before we painted, set down the vintage linoleum...and moved in.
so...stay tuned for the updated pics, hopefully tomorrow afternoon (evening?)
thanks to all that bought furniture this week-end! we sold 18 pieces of furniture since FRIDAY!!! wowza, crazy weekend! and thanks to the wonderful folks that put some trellises out for free this past week- hanging on the walls already!

I truly love her writing, her thoughts, her pictures. It is unlike my other blog favorites, it doesn't have a thing to do with decorating or found objects or wonderful junque. however, I did have the pleasure of meeting her in my store, I was so lucky the day she walked in...not because she purchased something, but welcomed me in to her life.

BOWLING BALLS, DEER, PIG, CATS AND TABLES

EGADS...WHAT HAVE I DONE??? I have it...I know I do...it is a bowling ball disease...I see one, and I must have it! blue, gold, black, speckled, frosted...doesn't matter...I have to have it...
and now, I have to have the bags, too!
and then there are the animals--- see the deer, peeking out from the back of my car? took 2 strong guys to get it in there...after we dug it out of the dirt!!! now I am waiting for an unsuspecting neighbor to come home to help us get him out of the back of my car...or he might live there forever!!!
the pig is just the cutest cookie jar that I have seen in a long time- he will be in the shop soon...
and I went table crazy this weekend- found about 8 new tables for the store- glass topped, drop leaf, small, big...

letters, letters, and more letters

I just can't resist a scrabble tile. Or antique letter type. Or any game piece, for that matter, that have letters on them...I have wood, plastic, cardboard, even puzzle shaped...I just cannot resist...do I need help???

Well, Mike the cat has made himself quite at home...in fact, one cannot work at the computer without him rolling around on it- therefore I can't be responsible for errors...my other cat behaves like a cat-
sleeps all day...eats...and well, you know...

I took a few pictures of items at my house, since I was doing a blog on things I love- I just love letters, roses, ferns, garden statuary... my plants are starting to take over our wee house...the greenhouse will be packed by the time it is done! thanks for letting me share some of my favorites...have a great week!
