two years ago...a big huge THANK YOU!!!

two years ago in September, we signed a lease for this store on Fremont...
and since then we have sold literally thousands of items...bit and small...
some very famous artists have graced these floors...and bought trinkets for their mixed media art...some fantastic neighbors have blessed us with their business...
we are taking a week...(really about 10 days)...to clean up...sort out...and re-mix...
what used to be ...
remodel pics and new item pics to come...
we are bringing in loads and loads of found objects (big and tiny)...
lots of mixed media trinkets...almost all antique or vintage...(did I mention some from France?)
and will re-open the Wednesday after Labor Day to an all new (vintage...) look...
thank you to all that have supported us these last 2 years...
we are so very very thankful!

wow!!! thanks to all that came, saw, and conquered! we have had a fabulous 2 days...and we will still bring more treasures in tomorrow for the last day of the sale!
so...we have 3 large bookcases (great display pieces) , one long narrow table, a glass topped display/cash wrap...a cool cube display...and loads more...all at half off (yep, 50% off tomorrow!)

DISPLAYS FOR SALE...SNEEK PEEK #2

This cream colored shabby table (I forgot its measurements) will be for sale...not too long, not too heavy...great for display/ shows/workrooms/ studios...
this long green shelf (on top of table) will be for sale- it measures 61" long by 52" tall and 8" deep...(pillar not for sale, sorry)...the shelf is that fabulous shade of 40's green...
it sits on this fabulous long shabby table measures 69" long by 28" deep and is 30" high...(they can be purchased separately)...
these "cubbies" can be set up the other way too, if that makes sense to you...they measure 74" by 37" and are 4 1/2" deep...(so they can be long and skinny like they are in this pic or tall and skinny set up the other way...)
and this amazing rustic bookshelf (which I will probably regret selling) is 81" long by 50" tall and 12 " deep...I have had it FOREVER...and it makes a great display in a mall space, or just anywhere...it is the one of the coolest shelves I have ever had...(gads...I am almost talking myself out of selling it!)...

so...if you need some fun fixtures...email me for a first grab (don't call the store...having probs picking up the messages) or just come by the store on Saturday...we will open at 9 am...

farm tables, display tables and shelves...SALE

since i have decided to purge...and re-do the store...I am selling some long, painted, tables that I usually use for display...how many do I have? at least 4 tables ...maybe 5...and some very large shelving pieces...perfectly shabby and wonderful, but just not going to work for me...some of them I have been hanging on to, you know...just "in case"...but I have decided to share my staples and pass them on.
none of the large pieces will be over $100...in fact, some probably less...
the cube/shelf unit in my banner photo will be for sale, too! displays really well!
so...I will picture more of them tomorrow...and if you are interested, email me asap...I just might let you snap them up BEFORE the big sale on Saturday! (and this is a dining set that is a bit of a project...for sale- bargain priced!)
and even my display/cash wrap/ counter didn't make the cut...not sure what I am going to use for a check out table...but I just might get Mr. Melanie to make me something rustic. My counter is metal with a glass, lit, display built in... and I might just let that go for a good price, too...(it weighs a TON- and is really neat and industrial looking)...

AAACCCKKK...failure at down time...

so...I really wish I could empty it out this much...really want an overhaul...
but it just isn't going to happen that way...i am going to have to make a HUGE mess before I am happy with it at all...
which means that downtime just isn't going to happen...
and this cute little bungalow needs to be painted this summer/fall... and we might have to do it one side at a time...cuz it needs scraping and priming...anyone for a trade? you scrape and prime my house...i do work at your house?
and this mess? took this picture of my basement when we first moved in (almost 2 years ago)...and granted...some of these boxes are gone...but...there are still lots left...so unpacking this week and next and BLOWING it all out at our (infamous) blow out garage sale...probably Labor Day weekend...
cuz I just want it EMPTY!!! I know there are great, wonderful treasures in those boxes...and it ALL has to go...cuz we need an egress window put in our basement...and that is MESSY...so it has to be empty...
ahhhhh....relaxing is really over rated...isn't it?
(did I mention that the greenhouse needs cleaning out, too?)

we are planning a HUGE BLOW OUT SALE at the store...either next week-end or Labor Day weekend...and also a store remodel at the same time...(gotta do this at least two times a year!)...
sometimes a girl just has to purge...

my buddy Mike is missing in action...

as I usually write my blog...my buddy Mike is there helping me...encouraging the words out of my mouth even when I can't think of a thing to say.
well...Mike has somehow slipped out of the house...
my only hope is that somehow he has managed to find water during this heat wave...and will wander home soon.

and I believe these are my long lost great great great grandparents...or they could be yours once they end up in the store!
having a great vacation...will be opening the store tomorrow for another second Friday event (we are open until 9pm and we're clearing out some good junque!) and open Saturday from 12-5...then working on an estate next week...then after that, back to STAY-CATION...

a stay at home vacation antique dealer??? what to do but go shopping...found this darling dresser in Battleground...
one of my favorite customers Karl, he sold me these early 1900's French art sheets...
and an antique typewriter table (forgot to pic the typewriter that goes on it...)
and this enamel topped table on wheels was from the Battleground trip taken yesterday...
and these heads? from Monticello today...
okay- I did work a little today...I washed these crystals...
but mostly I sat in this corner and read...and pondered...
and soon I will lay my head down here...and dream of what to do tomorrow on my stay-cation...oh....i am lovin my time off...

and in to the garden...

with the top dogs in my life...
nothing wrong with the deer gathering for a party...

ahhhh...my summer is here...at last...

My " baby" is 17...

hard for me to believe...but 17 years ago, tomorrow, my baby was born. I was destined to have just one...as my body dictated...but I could not have asked for a kinder, more wonderful human being as my son is growing up to be...as we speak, 16 of his closest friends are out in the backyard playing ping pong, listening to music, eating BBQ burgers and dogs, and playing foosball- a bit of an "old school" party, complete with the Costco cake with the dinosaur on it (he choose the cake!)...
tomorrow is the family celebration...we take him out to breakfast...then we are shopping for a new bike...(so glad he isn't asking for a car yet-that will probably be next year!)
I have to admit, after swimming parties and xbox parties and water parties...I am delighted that this is what he chose to do...

NEWS...and THANK YOUs...

wow- there have never been so many people on NE Fremont at one time...ever...as long as I can remember...it was the biggest parade...the biggest crowds...just the biggest everything! We had a 30% off sale...and sold 14 pieces of furniture and TONS of little things...and it was the first work day at the store for my niece...and what a blast! I had to have 3 coffee frappachinos(spell check does not like this word...) just to keep up!
thanks to all that came and bought and smiled and had fun!
now...for the " news"...
we will have special hours for the month of AUGUST ...we will be open this Friday for the Fremont second Fridays event...then just SATURDAYS ONLY this month...we will have some special "red tag" sales these Saturdays to clear out our projects and our store to revamp for the fall and Christmas...and I am going to be creating an in store studio for me to work on some of my many paper and glass projects...so you might catch me there some days during the weeks, but not many...we also will be taking a few buying trips and CONDUCTING ANOTHER ESTATE SALE ON AUGUST 21 AND 22...
SO... will take pics of the estate stuff as we get in to it...and...will post pics of some of the projects/items that will be red tagged on the weekends...as I can...

CHRISTMAS IN AUGUST! This Saturday...

Fremont Fest is happening! we will have special hours ( 9-5 ) this Saturday and the garage behind the store will be full of Christmas...yep, you heard right! we decided to do something extraordinary this Saturday and bling out the garage with vintage glass balls...trees...and who knows what else...all at fantastic blow-out prices!
will take pics as time allows...
we will also be blowing out some furniture along the path to the garage...a bit of a RED TAG sale...
swing by the Beaumont neighborhood this Saturday as the neighborhood goes in to a festival mood!
