the hubby saw the dealers bringing these in to STARS antique mall last month...

early morning shopping (pre coffee!)
I got a big stack of these magazines from the 1930's...I LOVE the covers!
Mike the cat trying to help/get in the way...
A Lotto game from England...love the red!
the Kitty bowl is for the owners of my favorite pet shop...got them a matching one last year that says "dog" on it and they use it for display...
one very old print...(with a saying that I love!)
and this squirrel picture is a water color and very small (postcard sized)
I also left with two boxes of cool jars...for one of my son's friends' wedding...and a fun cubby (pics another time!)...
so...all in all a great morning...good company :)...
and fun!
happy hunting out there!

the vintage suitcase that wasn't a suitcase...
So, while I was out shopping last week...I grabbed this suitcase off the shelf...
then I saw the wind up handle on the side...
so I opened it...
this vintage "suitcase" was quite the surprise...
so it is listed on Ebay right now...to become someone elses' treasure...
happy shopping out there! I hope you find some surprises out there...

the wild Christmas tree...
It is a mixture of old and new...
Luke and his father...
Talking Darth Vader...
and antique glass...
the mixture makes up our tree every year...
and for the first time in 15 years, we bought our tree at a local farm rather than at a location close to our old home...
and the farmer was kind enough to cut it down for us...
so with my son and his girlfriend, John and I...
we got the funny little tree all decorated for the season...
and now, finally, it feels like Christmas...
I wish you all the best holiday ever!

Deadly shootings at the nearby mall...
As I shopped in an area thrift store, the music stopped, and I heard my friend Dave's voice...he is on KEX in the afternoon, and he and his on air partner announced that there had been a shooting at a nearby mall. It was the mall where my son used to work, and lives about a block from. Many of his friends work there, including one of his roommates. As I frantically started texting, trying to reach my son, he sent me a text that he was fine, as was his roommate. However, 2 were dead, as was the shooter.
I cannot imagine the sadness of those families of the fallen and injured, and also those that were holiday shopping and witnessed and lived through it. My prayers go out to all involved, and hope that they find some solace in knowing that all of Portland is reeling from this...and even to the family of the shooter (as he must have one)...my prayers are with you all tonight.

the Santa takeover...(and trying to place a good day/night for a studio supply sale...)
Finally, there is some holiday decor in my house...
we found the Santas and the rest of the Christmas...cuz the tree is going up Thursday...
but as I labeled the 20th tote that said "studio"...I realized that I had more good (junque) vintage art-paper-glitter-bits and baubles-wallpaper than 5 (or 20!) collage-repurposer-gluer-creators ...
so I am trying to place the date of the studio sale in January...and am wondering if a weekday night is good, or should I stick to a Saturday morning?
Let me know what you think...
and I hope you are all having a good start to December!
