Studio before pictures...not so pretty

I'm renting a space in a rather large building with 100 doors on the inside...

And I'm using all of my imaginative powers to envision a lovely studio ...

Of course, I have to admit that the glued on foam from a previous renter( a band, I believe) is intimidating me...( and frustrating!)

And that drop ceiling? Ugh...

Most of the walls are concrete...which in itself is a challenge...

But did you see those doors? And the window box? And the, well, possibilities?
I will update as things get done ( by the way... The stuff inside ( that wasn't mine) has been cleared out...,
I could use some magical ideas for the removal of the glue and foam on the walls...
Wish me luck!!!

Oh, the potential!! What if you hung fabric over the walls to just hide them? Or if you are going to paint, could you just paint over the glued stuff? So it all blends together?
The place looks great and I love where it is located!! Lucky you!!

I'd cover the foam with......surprise!.....paper!
Take some cool old book pages, obviously the bigger the better, and make a collage. Just get those teeny tiny straight pins and have at it.....oh, and be sure to mix some awesome vintage wallpaper in for a pop of color.

I love the doors and the window box and I DO see the possibilities. What if you just hang gathered fabric curtains to hid the foam walls? I have a bad feeling they probably used something like Liquid Nails to put it up and no clue how you could get it off.

Are you renting the space to store things or to sell out of or is it your work studio?!
Maybe the landlord will have an idea on how to clean up the walls! Isn't that his responsibility?
I'm sure you'll make it great.
Warmly,
deb
