Easter, books, bingo cards, globes, & more!

I just love sunny days! This week has just been so much fun! I changed the store around, re-did the window, brought in new finds...and met lots of new folks in the neighborhood! Today I had about 5 or 6 customers that were so thrilled that we had no sales tax...they were traveling from other states & had journeyed in to the store! I was delighted to be able to tell them that they were in a sales tax free land...

Dog vs. world, MORE fun finds, & birthday presents

So...found this partial nativity set on my birthday beach weekend, the camera, platter, and bees, too!
This gnome was a birthday present from my friend & junking, beach co-hort, Gail. Little did she know that I have coveted this EXACT gnome/mushroom statue in one of my favorite neighborhood shops, BELLA FLORA. I swear she has the same gnome, same color! And I have wanted it for years (ah...the not for sale gnome!).



And finally, I couldn't resist my dog...staring down the largest globe I have ever owned!!! I can't decide if she is deciding which country to vacation in, or if it is a ball to play go fetch!
This has been a fun week so far, and it is only TUESDAY!!!

COULD THIS BE HEAVEN FOR A JUNKER? LUCKY FINDS...

Is it possible that when you take two great friends, a large car, and a free week-end...that magic can happen? I traveled to the Oregon coast with my bestest friend for my birthday...we followed every "sale" sign that we saw...and just laughed until we cried! We followed one sign that when followed ended up a dead end...or could it be an attic school sale? (with teeny tiny wee signage). When we walked in we both screamed...for there stood 3 glorious world globes...one the largest that I have ever seen! Needless to say, we had to completely unload our baggage to fit everything in that we bought there!!! Hand chalkboards, supplies, Quizmo game, flash cards, books and so much more! The men working the sale, I am sure, thought we were drunk or something! We would scream almost every time we opened a box!

The school and the guys were so charming...they helped us load our goodies...and laughed at our delight! These pics just show a mere pittance of what we found...wish I had taken a pic of the car!


And notice the lovely blue sky! We had wonderful weather all week-end.
And to my friend Gail...thank you thank you thank you for the most I have laughed in years!!! What a great birthday! (today is the actual day, but last week-end...was a BLAST!!!)

Manzanita here we come!!!

So... last time I was at the beach, we spent loads of time actually ON the beach.
This time, I am not so sure that will be the case.


I am thinking that I might actually just hit the antique malls, junque stores, and happy hours.
After all, this is a birthday celebration...with a girl friend and not my family, so I think that shopping til I drop could be in order.

After all, one doesn't get the opportunity very often just to relax...and not take care of the rest of the gang...so...I thought that I would post pics of the beach that I took in the past...and next post will be of the vintage finds that I hope will leap in to my arms...and I will bring them home! Perhaps I will find a few trinkets to sell at the store, as well.

Something BIG is happening in my backyard!

Well, I am going away this weekend to celebrate my big "50" birthday with my BFF from Eugene. My wonderful hubby tells me that he is having a party for me, "without me", this Saturday. Hmmm...what is he up to? I will be gone, he is having a party, and...well, see for yourself. Check out the pictures of my backyard...oooh, la, la...

Am I normal? I just love vintage rickrack!

oh...the lovelies that are trickling in...vintage rickrack in yummy colors, creamy old lace...vintage threads on wooden spools...bingo cards.. chenille spring chicks and roosters...and so much more! I found a box of my old sewing notions...and thought that I would share them. Am I normal? I just love this old stuff!
