GOT AN INCREDIBLE PHONE CALL LAST WEEK...

When the phone rang, it was a call that I hadn't had in 2 years.
"can we come to your store first next week-end" was the question...
and of course, I answered with
"I don't have a store anymore"...but I would LOVE to see you...and I have two spaces at STARS Antique Malls...
"My client gets in on Friday, and we will come to STARS on Saturday..." was the response...

WOW...

I was honored and touched...
however...
I had an estate sale to run this weekend...
and I have a HUGE THANK YOU...
to CLAIRE and ELAINE...
that ran the WHOLE sale on Saturday afternoon with my hubby...

back to the client...
He is from Japan...
nice as can be...
a fun shopper...
he didn't find anything in my space at STARS (it is all garden and he wasn't looking for garden)...he found TONS of other stuff at STARS...
BUT...
my space is EMPTY in SPLENDID...
and stuff is on the floor everywhere...
in very messy piles...
AND ....
I have a personal appointment later this week to look at lots of my other stuff from storage...
so...
a HUGE THANK YOU ....
to NANCY, his guide...that called me!!!! and set up the appointments...
to everyone that went the extra mile at STARS ( Darwin especially was so helpful!)
and at the estate sale
all your extra work...
you saved me...
and made my weekend!!!

snow ruffles...

I know it seems silly...

but we rarely get any snow...

and I grew up in the Midwest, where we got LOTS of snow...

so I can't resist even the smallest of snowstorms in Portland (check out my tomato cage with the snowball on top!)

I know that I am a bit late...but I took some snapshots of our garden after our overnight snow...
and I could not get over the fact that my garden has ruffles!

NEW in my mall space...

IN STARS ANTIQUE MALL space #4 is the cutest desk with purple glass knobs...

more ironstone...can a person have too much ironstone?

I just love the shade of green that someone painted it years and years ago...

MAN CAVE PART 2

For those of you that have been following our basement remodel...

the closer I get...the more excited I become...

the "after"...the before is too scary to repeat (see last post...)

here is the actual table, cleared off, sorted, and ready for decorating...

of course, I can't just "decorate"...this space is way too small for that...so I have to have the actual items that I am going to use...or that inspire me to stretch my imagination...

I took some of your advice (post" should I keep it or sell"?)... and kept the drawers that can help organize me...(this is the "calm" picture)

so in my teeny tiny studio...I am keeping only what I love or know I will use...

I am purging so much ephemera and trinkets that I can't bag it up quick enough to sell...

this is the table that is next...(ah...more chaos...)...I hope to get this table done today...(so "after" photos should be tomorrow)...

This is my February resolution...to get the studio where I can just walk in and CREATE...not have to weed through the chaos before I can make anything...
how many more days do I have?

looking for booth number 3...I want it to look like an art studio

my garden booth at STARS antique mall...

my girlie booth at SPLENDID antique mall...

so for my next adventure, I want to have a creative booth...one with found vintage objects for collage art...funky pieces of metal thingies, letters, wallpaper, ephemera, stamps, letters, you name it...I probably have it...(oh yeah, did I mention drawers?)...
I want to set up a booth somewhere that looks like a studio...full of yummy old and tarnished treasures for collage and found object art...bottles full of vintage glitter...vintage fabrics...old glass jars...antique books for cutting and pasting...black and white photos...I have an incredible supply of wonderful junque to sell...
any ideas where I should do this???
very open to suggestions...
