time for myself...felting 101...I learned from the best...

This mouse was a Christmas present from my friend Elaine at Bella Flora...she creates the most marvelous creatures...

these chicks I bought from her last Easter...aren't they delightful? I often wished that I could learn how to felt animals...
and I was lucky enough to take her classes this last weekend ( I am a slow learner, so I took both classes...)

this lifelike bird was from her...two Christmas's ago...it hangs on a branch on my Norfolk pine tree...
so...not sure what I am going to create...

the owl? My first creation...I think he belongs in a Tim Burton movie...

and my Sunday creation...this chick...
one of my New Years resolutions was to learn/create something new every month in 2011...and now I am on track...

is there such a thing as too much chandelier?

these two matching antique chandeliers are in my studio...and believe it or not, they are "too" much for the space...(the space is tiny!)...

I find that I am a "muted" light person...when I am working on a project I want a desk light to luminate my project...
and the overhead lights to be softer...

so I just listed these on Craig's list...they are a matching pair...but I listed that I would sell them separately...
and I have two smaller chandeliers that I will be putting in my studio...
so...I have to take back the words "I will NEVER sell those chandeliers" that I used to utter when I had them in my store...
cuz there is just NO space for them at home...
and they deserve to shine...

treasures...

as I purge our storage area and my very full basement...

I find that I am willing now to pass on some of my treasures that I have been saving...

I mean, will I really use these springs? Or these pool balls? Or these paint brushes?

I am often asked "don't I want to keep everything that I find?"

And yes, it used to be much harder to part with treasures...

but as I get older, I find that those treasures are just taking up space for me...

so I am hoping that some of my favorite things...might be your favorite things...
and that they can find new homes...
cuz I have so many more collections to part with...
these items are in my space at STARS...
and more and more will be taken in...
so...if you see anything that you love and don't live close by...just shoot me an email...
I will gladly pack up some goodies for you!

I find that maybe I need to completely (almost?) purge and start over...

I just am ready to have a clean, organized house without all the "piles" of merch waiting to be priced for the mall spaces...
If I could find my sticker gun, I think I would price it all estate sale prices, invite you all...and open the doors!

NO NO NO NO NO...this color / floor just won't do...

today was wall / floor day...

tomorrow my trusty movers (that have been my heavy duty movers for about 8 years now)... will haul my huge display cabinet (that is in 4 pieces, sure hope they remember that!)...and a super long table, some display racks...some cupboards for sale...a small oak desk...and so much more...
then I will be playing, stocking, pricing, arranging...all week-end...
ohhhh...the fun has just begun!

Why oh why do I love dictionaries and encyclopedias?

it was the green color that attracted me to these in the first place...they have great illustrations inside...

is it possible that I have 3 dictionaries that are exactly the same here?
am I crazy?

My house looks like Santa's workshop...if he was in to vintage stuff!

ok...so Christmas is over...and the dogs are tired...

but I open a new booth this weekend across the street from STARS at SPLENDID (owned by Stars...)

so I have treasures everywhere in my house that are being priced and packaged up...

so my workshop/house is destined to be messy for one more week...

but the end is near....

and barring any major catastrophes, I'll be moved in...



and perhaps I can get my house back!

AMAZING vintage wallpaper for sale!

one of my New Year's resolutions was to purge items I no longer needed...

I felt that it was an attainable goal for me...

and honestly, I have so much...(hence my many "before" pictures...of which another is coming up soon!)

so I listed these rolls of vintage wallpaper on EBAY yesterday...
they are really, really full rolls of paper...(more pics on EBAY)

with the hope that someone that does fabulous art will see the rolls and be inspired...
I have been collecting vintage wallpaper even before it was popular...
cuz I just love the old school patterns...
my mom always told me that I was born in the wrong era (she meant it as a compliment, that is how I took it :)

my bedroom chandelier...you either love it or you hate it...

I brought this home years and years ago from a tiny, dusty little shop in Idaho.
I wish I had a before picture. It was moldy, didn't light, had broken holders (where the light bulb goes in...not sure what they are called...) and was just in horrible shape.
and I let it sit in my basement for years and years before my friend Mike came along.




Mike restores lamps. So I asked him if he would like a "challenge"...

Isn't he the best? I just love this chandelier...it hangs in a corner of my bedroom...
but you do have to love cherubs to love it...
and I do.
I am off to STARS for day 3 of the sale. the last day for bargains...
